It was the first time I'd ever been there and really enjoyed it. I brought along a hand-made shawl to give to a my friend who lives there. We've been pen pals for about 10 years and this was our first face to face meeting. I hope you love Amsterdam. By the way, we went to a lovely little cafe called VOC near the train station - its an old corner building in front of one of the canals - give it a try if you can.The Knitting Instincthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01599163983897836167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2135139821724644442.post-13483751541395304082010-09-13T14:56:44.753-05:002010-09-13T14:56:44.753-05:00I love your designs! I understand that once I finish the knit stitch I am to leave the yarn in the back, scoop up the next stitch with right needle purlwise but don't know how to make the stitch if I am not supposed to wrap the yarn...that would be a slip stitch and doesn't make a yo. Please help as I'm itching to get this going. I've made 2 boneyards for my vets this summer. Can't wait for book, I have it on order at My Sister Knits in Fort Collins, CO.Daniellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10979507047000656578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2135139821724644442.post-41474413529806894042010-09-05T19:00:27.656-05:002010-09-05T19:00:27.656-05:00Thank you for your beautiful work. However, I do not understand at all how to do the YO's from knit to purl stitch. I understand keeping yarn in back and when you slide right hand needle into next stitch purlwise how to make the purl stitch if you are not supposed to wrap the yarn around needle. I'm so confused and stuck and I want to be making it! It was the very first experience I have had with The Sanguine Gryphon Skinny Bugga, and I could not put it down. I think the shawl took me 3 days and it looks simply fabulous. I won't be using anything but their yarns from now on, as much as possible. Their colors are to die for. I too, love Timber Oakworm. Recently my friend Margarita made an AMAZING and HUGE daybreak using my own handdyed yars as a stripe with black as a base and a few chartruese stripes in the border.

I was so taken with it I started one too - with some of the recent Sundara Napa Valley Club yarn colours.
